Course Overview
This course is designed to meet the Daughter craft coxswain training and development requirements for ERRV crew-members.
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Delegates are assessed continuously during the course.
Certain aspects of the course are of a physical nature and may include lifting, climbing and pulling. Delegates must declare at course commencement any pre-existing medical condition that could be exacerbated by, or impair their ability to complete the training programme. For certain medical conditions, delegates must have undergone a medical since being diagnosed.

In order to complete OPITO ERRV Crew Daughter Craft Coxswain, delegates must hold:

Attendance on this training course is open to delegates who: Are in possession of a valid FRC Coxswain Certificate and three months sea time as an FRC Coxswain.
Have successfully completed a mandatory Pre-Course Learning Programme that includes regulations and buoyage. You can find this under the “pre-reading” material section of the Joining Instructions.

An OPITO-approved ERRV Crew Daughter Craft Coxswain training course meets the initial training requirements for the role of an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) Daughter Craft Coxswain.More information
- Certification: An OPITO certificate will be issued upon successful course completion.
- Certificate validity (months): 36
- Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 3 years.
- Items to bring: Pre-course learning material. Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport Pre-Reading Material: PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW PRE-COURSE QUESTIONNAIRE PRIOR TO COURSE COMMENCEMENT. PLEASE BRING THIS WITH YOU TO THE COURSE.
