Course Overview

This 3-day training course accredited by the Nautical Institute on behalf of BEIS, is designed for Onshore Emergency Responders, Incident Managers and advisors. Led by instructors with decades of operational experience in oil and chemical spill response, salvage and rescue operations, the course arms delegates with a wide breadth and depth of knowledge over three days.

The course provides delegates with an understanding of preparedness and response methods, procedures, legislation and equipment, consolidating knowledge with case studies, practice scenarios and tabletop exercises.

By the end of the OPEP 3 training programme, delegates will have a thorough understanding of;

  • Certification: A Nautical Institute certificate will be issued upon successful course completion.
  • Certificate validity (months): 36
  • Target audience: Emergency Room Managers, Offshore Oil Spill Advisors, Environmental Advisors, Onshore Emergency Responders and Emergency Response Operators.
  • Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 3 years.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
