Course Overview

This course provides delegates with the knowledge to carry out personal noise exposure assessments in the workplace which is a requirement of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2006). Noise at Work: Competent Person's Certificate guides delegates through noise and its management - from a basic understanding of noise properties and its effects on hearing, through to the calculation, assessment, and reporting of noise data. The measurement of noise, including the correct operation of sound level meters, noise sampling, and effective record keeping is reinforced by practical site measurements representative of industrial workplaces.

Course Content

Under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2006), a competent person is required to carry out personal noise exposure assessments in the workplace.   • Certification: A 3t Training Services certificate will be issued upon successful completion
  • Target audience: Anyone who may have direct or indirect involvement in managing an incident or crisis and who may be required to speak or release information to the media
  • Revalidation: There is no revalidation period for this training programme but refresher training is recommended every 2 years or in line with company requirements.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
