Course Overview

The ECITB Low Risk Confined Space course covers entries with adequate ventilation, natural or mechanical, where there is no likely risk of flooding. These areas are no deeper than three metres and have an unobstructed vertical lift, with a ladder straight into a dark chamber.
Delegates will be trained in the use of fall arrest and retrieval equipment and proper ladder climbing techniques. This will allow for safe access and egress into a confined space environment.

Course Content

Delegates completing this training course will be able to;
- Safely access and egress from low risk confined space environments
- Use fall arrest and retrieval equipment
- Demonstrate correct ladder climbing techniques

More information

  • Certification: An ECITB certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
  • Certificate validity (months): 36
  • Target audience: Personnel nominated to make low risk shallow entries (no deeper than 3 metres) with adequate ventilation natural or mechanical where access is simple and unobstructed and there is no likely risk of flooding.
  • Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 3 years.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
