Course Overview

The Confined Space Entry Awareness with Breathing Apparatus training course provides the most thorough experience of working in a confined space either alone or in teams.

Delegates will gain practical experience of working in a dangerous confined space environment and using breathing apparatus sets to prepare them for real-world situations.

The training is delivered in 3t Training Services' state-of-the-art confined space structure which simulates a real-life enclosure. The confined space simulation includes various working levels, ladders (including use of inertia reels), stairways, hatches and crawl spaces.

Course Content

Delegates completing a Confined Space Rescue and Recovery of a Casualty training course will be able;
- Aware of the relevant regulations governing working in confined spaces
- Aware of exposure limits, types of gases that may be encountered and precautions to be taken
- Able to identify hazards regarding entrance to working in and exiting a confined space
- Aware of safe systems of work that should be implemented when working within confined spaces
- Able to recognise and understand confined space permits, gas test certificates and task risk assessments
- Fully aware of confined space control measures and how they should be implemented
- Fully aware of different types of communication methods that can be used when working in confined spaces
- Fully aware of the correct use of different types of equipment used in a confined space
- Familiar with equipment that can be used for a confined space rescue
- Familiar with different types of breathing apparatus used for working in confined spaces
- Familiar with the correct measures to be taken in the event of a confined space emergency
- Proficient in the pre-use checks and testing of flite sets with airline and BA trolley system
- Fully aware of restrictions with wearing BA with airline in confined space
-Familiar with standards required for air quality testing

  • Certification: A 3t Training Services certificate will be issued upon successful completion.
  • Certificate validity (months): 24
  • Target audience: Personnel who are involved in work in confined spaces.
  • Revalidation: It is recommended certification is revalidated every 2 years.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement
