The course is a mix of theoretical and practical training and will train candidates in the safe use of mechanical tools used in surface preparation prior to the application of a protective coatings system.

This course includes; • Hazards and Common issues • Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance & HAVS • Working practice and safe usage

Course Content

Delegates completing this course will be trained on;
- the safe use of bristle blaster and needle guns (pneumatic)
- the correct use of the mechanical items
- the correct maintenance and repair processes for these items.
- the correct surface preparation standards to adhere to.

  • Certification: An in-house training provider certificate will be provided upon successful completion of this course.
  • Target audience: Fabric maintenance operatives or anyone using or requiring and understanding of surface preparation mechanical tools.
  • Revalidation: This certificate does not expire.
  • Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport.
  • Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
