Course Overview

Training will cover the theory of the Marine Evacuation System Training (MES) and use as well as practical exercises of escaping via an Marine Evacuation System Training (MES)

Prerequisites

Prerequisites Required!
In order to complete Marine Evacuation System Training (MES), delegates must hold:
    Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.

Course Content

By the end of this training programme delegates will:

- Have a knowledge of how and when an escape chute will be deployed

- Understand what is meant by correct PPE for escape chute entry

- Be confident in the practical use of an escape chute of the type most commonly used onboard

- Demonstrate entering the escape chute safely using the correct body posture

- Demonstrate a controlled descent through the escape chute

- Demonstrate exiting the escape chute correctly onto a collection raft or collection platform

- Demonstrate, on completion of the escape chute descent, clearing the egress point at the base of the escape chute by moving out of the way of the descending personnel
