Course Overview
An OPITO-approved ERRV Crew Initial Shipboard Operations training course meets the initial emergency response training requirements for all prospective Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) crew members. Although this excludes chief engineers and masters as there is no requirement for them to undertake training. Delegates will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required to be part of an ERRV crew.

OIS-49 Principles and Priorities for Basic Medical Aid
- LO 1 - Anatomy and Physiology as appropriate to the role of the BMA
- LO 2 - Principles and Priorities of First Aid
- LO 3 - Anticipated Scenarios Encountered by the BMA following an Offshore Incident
OIS-50 Assessment and Treatment of Casualties
- LO 1 - How to initially receive Casualties Onboard
- LO 2 - Treatment of Anticipated Scenarios encountered by the BMA following an Offshore Incident
- LO 3 - Casualty Monitoring and Recording

- Certification: An OPITO certificate will be issued upon successful course completion.
- Certificate validity (months): 36
- Target audience: This course meets the initial emergency response training requirements for all prospective Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) crew members. Please note: this excludes chief engineers and masters as there is no requirement for them to undertake training.
- Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 3 years.
- Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID eg Driver Licence or Passport
- Health prerequisites: Due to certain aspects of the course being potentially physically demanding and/or stressful, delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on this course by completing our centre medical self-screening form prior to course commencement.
