In an incredible demonstration of teamwork and dedication, a group of 3t colleagues and their friends recently completed an extraordinary challenge to raise funds for Anxious Minds, a local charity in the North East of England providing vital mental health support in the community.

The challenge was inspired by the memory of a close friend who sadly lost their life to mental health challenges last year. To honour their friend and raise awareness of mental health issues, the team took on the physically and mentally demanding task of running or walking 5k every 5 hours for a total of 55 hours.

“We chose this challenge to really push ourselves and raise awareness of the important of mental health support” explained Tracy Chatterton, Concierge at 3t’s Newcastle training centre.
“The team stayed at the 3t hotel in Newcastle throughout the challenge, which proved to be invaluable. The shared accommodation allowed us to support one another and maintain high spirits throughout the grueling event. It was tough but being in it together kept us going.”

3t was delighted to support the team’s cause and recognise their incredible efforts with a £1,000 donation.
Reflecting on the challenge, Tracy said “We were completely worn out after the challenge both physically and emotionally but also really proud of what we achieved. It was tough going, especially during the middle of the night.
“Looking back now it’s very much a mix of pride and sadness. Proud of what we did and how we came together, but still heartbroken that we had to do it in the first place. It made me think a lot more about mental health and how important it is to check in with the people around us.
“We are proud to have achieved our goal in aid of such a worthy cause and we are incredibly grateful for 3t’s support. This generous donation will make a real impact in helping those who need it most.”
